about stewart mcsweyn
Stewart McSweyn is an Australian middle & long-distance running star from King Island, Tasmania.
Stewart enjoyed a stellar 2020 which included the fastest mile run anywhere in the world that year and the quickest by an Australian in 15 years. He also broke the long-standing national 1,500m and 3,000m records on the Diamond League circuit and is now shaping as a genuine medal shot at the rescheduled 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
In December 2019, Stewart broke the Australian record for 10,000m, running 27:23.80 at the Zatopek:10, his third successive national championship at the distance. The record has since been broken and he is more determined than ever to go after it again.
With plenty of hard work over the coming years, the 25-year-old has the potential to cement his name amongst Australian distance running’s greats.
