Lin Jong

about lin jong

He is a tough as nails midfielder who despite a serious injury in the 2016 AFL Elimination Final returned to play in the 2016 Footscray Bulldogs ‘VFL Grand Final victory, receiving the Norm Goss medal as the best afield.

The first player of East Timorese and Taiwanese descent to play in the AFL, Lin is a two-time VFL Premiership winner (2014 and 2016) with the Footscray Bulldogs and became a beloved member of the kennel.

He called time on his AFL career in 2021 following another injury heartbreak and made 65 appearances for the Bulldogs during his time at Whitten Oval.

Lin is an advocate for multiculturism in the game, serving as an AFL Multicultural Ambassador in 2020, as well as a men’s mental health advocate by working as a Campaign Ambassador for Movember.
