Brianna Throssell is a two-time Australian Olympic swimmer who specialises in the butterfly and freestyle strokes.
The Perth native’s star was on the rise well before she won seven bronze medals at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.
From there onwards, Brianna’s impressive displays at the 2016 Australian National Championships saw her qualify for the 2016 Olympics.
In Rio, she made the final of the 200m butterfly heat before winning bronze in the 200m butterfly and gold in the 4x200m freestyle relay events at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast.
A national title holder in the 200m butterfly, Brianna was a part of Australia’s world record-setting Women’s 4x200m Freestyle team at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea.
An engaging personality, she followed up this success by being a member of the Gold Medal-winning 4x100m Freestyle team at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
