Sarah Allan

A 16th-round selection in the 2016 AFLW Draft, Sarah became part of Adelaide’s inaugural AFLW squad and made an immediate impact during the Club’s historic 2017 Premiership season. Her consistency, competitiveness and composure quickly established her as a cornerstone of the Crows’ defensive structure.

Sarah enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2018, finishing runner-up in Adelaide’s Club Champion award and earning the Club’s Best Defensive Player honour. She continued to build her reputation as one of the league’s most dependable defenders and became a two-time Premiership player in 2019, playing a pivotal role as the rock of Adelaide’s backline.

After multiple All-Australian squad selections, Sarah earned her first All-Australian blazer in 2020, confirming her standing among the AFLW’s elite defenders. She further cemented her legacy when Adelaide secured the 2022 AFLW Premiership, making her a three-time Premiership player and one of the most decorated figures in the Club’s history.

A respected leader throughout her career, Sarah previously served as co-captain of the Adelaide Crows AFLW side, helping guide the team through a successful era both on and off the field. Following her decision to step down from the co-captaincy, she remains a key figure within the playing group, continuing to lead through her actions, experience and professionalism.

Widely regarded as one of the competition’s premier defenders, Sarah continues to be an integral part of Adelaide’s success, combining toughness, consistency and leadership at the highest level of the women’s game.
