WSM Establishes Motor Sport Division

W Sports and Media (WSM) signs global Formula 1 talent to establish new motor sport division.

WSM has established a new sports division by signing two of the world’s biggest names in motor sport, the father – son duo of Juan Pablo and Sebastian Montoya.

Juan Pablo Montoya is one of the most famous drivers in the history of the sport. Ranked 30th on Times Online’s top 50 Formula 1 drivers of all time, Montoya famously raced for the Williams and McLaren teams winning multiple Formula One races and regularly finished in the top 10 in the year end Driver’s Championship. Montoya is one of three drivers, along with Mario Andretti and Dan Gurney, to win at least one race in Indy car racing, Formula One, and the NASCAR Cup Series. Montoya has won the Indianapolis 500 twice in his career.

Sebastian Montoya is one of the world’s best up and coming drivers and many see him one day following in his father’s footsteps and competing in Formula One. Montoya has competed at the ADAC Formula 4 championship, the Italian Formula 4 Championship, and the Formula Regional Championship level.

Steven Baldas, CEO of WSM: “We’re thrilled to become a major player in global motor sport. This is a multi-billion dollar market and to represent a global icon such as Juan Pablo Montoya, and an up-and-coming phenom such as Sebastian Montoya, opens incredible global opportunities for us as well as enables us to leverage the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix here in Melbourne. This enables us to grow our business into new and exciting markets that will benefit not only our new motor sport talent, but all our talent across all segments.”

Juan Pablo Montoya: “Both Sebastian and I could not be happier about working with W Sports and Media because we believe they are best positioned to help us achieve our future career ambitions. We’re excited by what the future holds with them!”
