Izak Rankine

Izak Rankine is one of the AFL’s most electrifying talents, combining speed, skill, creativity and match-winning ability to become one of the Adelaide Crows’ most exciting players.

Originally from West Adelaide, Izak was one of the standout prospects of his draft class, earning dual Under-18 All-Australian honours before being selected by the Gold Coast Suns with pick 3 in the 2018 AFL Draft. From a young age, he was regarded as a special talent, regularly drawing comparisons to AFL great Andrew McLeod for his ability to change games through instinct, flair and moments of brilliance.

After making his AFL debut in 2020 with an impressive three-goal performance and earning a Rising Star nomination, Izak quickly established himself as one of the competition’s most dangerous small forwards. His rare goal sense, clean ball use and ability to create something out of nothing made him a must-watch player and one of the most exciting young names in the game.

At the conclusion of the 2022 AFL season, Izak returned home to South Australia, signing a five-year deal with the Adelaide Crows. He made an immediate impact in his first season at the Club, kicking 36 goals from 20 games and quickly becoming a key figure in Adelaide’s attacking mix. Since then, he has continued to evolve his game, spending more time through the midfield and adding another dimension to his already damaging forward craft.

In 2025, Izak took another major step forward, averaging more than 20 disposals, 4 clearances and 4 inside 50s per game, while also kicking 31 goals across the season. His ability to impact both through the midfield and on the scoreboard has made him one of the AFL’s most dangerous and versatile players.
