WSM client Izak Rankine has been selected with pick 3 by the Gold Coast Suns in the AFL National Draft. A player regarded by many as the most talented prospect available this year, Izak is the only dual All-Australian in this year’s draft class.
Following his SANFL debut at only 16 years of age, Izak has emerged as a goal-kicking weapon of rare skill and football smarts. His three goal opening quarter against Vic Metro in the under 18 National Championships effectively ended the game there and then.
What the experts are saying:
Callum Twomey (AFL Media) – “Rankine might be the most exciting player in the draft. He’s a game-changer, match-winner, eye-catcher – whatever you want to call it, Rankine’s it.”
Matt Balmer (Fox Footy) – “Exciting with a capital E. Rankine is capable of eye-catching displays and there aren’t too many games where Rankine doesn’t produce a highlight. ”
Chris Doerre (ESPN) – “Possessing comparable talent to Andrew McLeod and Shaun Burgoyne, Rankine has the capacity to turn games like no one else in this draft.”
