The only dual All-Australian under-18 player in his draft class, Izak Rankine from West Adelaide is a standout recruit and was selected with pick 3 by the Gold Coast Suns in the 2018 AFL Draft.
South Australia’s five-goal star in its AFL under-18 championship-deciding match against Vic Metro in July, Rankine impressed scouts again in the power events at the October draft combine.
Triple Brisbane premiership player Luke Power has added to the buzz about Izak by describing him as “probably the most talented player that I’ve seen come through the pathway for a long time’’.
Izak has been likened to Andrew McLeod for his ability to change the course of a game with his freakish goal kicking ability, and he can play in the midfield as well as in the forward line.
A SANFL league player since he was 16 years old, Izak is ready for AFL football and is looking forward to playing at on the Gold Coast at the next level.
