about

harry

Harry Bateman grew up in the Wairarapa region in New Zealand playing tennis and rugby, and only took up the game of golf at 12 years of age. When Harry was 18 he moved to Christchurch to study mathematics and finance, qualifying for the New Zealand Open in his final year and making the cut. It was then that he decided that he wanted to play professionally.

Following two years on the Europro Tour in 2013 and 2014, which included his first professional win, Harry earned his Australasian Tour card and won the NZ PGA Order of Merit. He steadily improved through 2015 and achieved a T10 finish at the New Zealand Open which secured his tour card for the following year.

A back injury at the end of 2015 hindered his progress in 2016 but after a break he came back and regained his tour card in 2017. Harry finished 5th at the NZ PGA and then 16th at the Fiji International in a quality field. This was capped by his second full field four round win as a professional by 8 shots at the Harewood Open in Christchurch on the NZ Charles Tour. Harry then went on to finish 4th at the Queensland Open.

Harry is a smart and mature young athlete who would be a perfect ambassador for a strong brand. He plays in front of increasingly large television audiences, can front advertising campaigns, and speak articulately and honestly as a brand ambassador.
